International Air Response, Coolidge AZ

The municipal airfield at Coolidge, Arizona is home to International Air Response and their fleet of ex-USAF C-130 Hercules transports. Formerly resident at Chandler, in the suburbs of Phoenix, IAR recently moved to the quiet and slightly remote airport of Coolidge. Currently their fleet of C-130s stands at 4 airworthy aircraft, with others stored for future use, or as a spares source for the operational fleet.

The C-130s are used on a variety of missions, including contracts for the US military, who require the aircraft to train paratroops. The airworthy fleet is presented in a very smart grey and white colour scheme. The stored aircraft are in a variety of colour schemes from previous operators.

IAR also own and maintain a magnificent DC-7. The DC-7 was formerly part of their fire-fighting fleet - although IAR no longer performs fire fighting missions, the aircraft has been retained, and as can be seen, looks spectacular.

Many thanks to the staff at IAR for their hospitality, especially Ron, the chief engineer.
