This site has taken something of a back seat lately as I have been involved with a new project, Global Aviation Resource.This is a project which I am very excited about, and I would urge you to visit, as updates to this site will become rather infrequent and nowhere near as comprehensive as those on GAR.

Latest Updates

29 Apr 09: It's been some time since this site was updated, so I have had a little catching up to do. This will be the first of two updates in the next couple of days. First up is a report from the MCAS Yuma Airshow 2009, held on 14 Mar 09, and featuring some superb participation from the US Marine Corps and US Navy. Also from Arizona comes a report from a day spend at Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport (formerly Williams-Gateway). Final item is a photographic report from a visit to Mojave Airport, California, in Oct 2008.

For each report I've added the option of viewing a slideshow of larger images, which can be accessed by a link at the end of the report.

02 Feb 09: Update featuring photos from a brief visit to Arizona and California, via a Phoenix trip in mid-January 2009. A brief visit to Luke AFB on 20 Jan yielded some photos, and the following day was spent outside NAF El Centro in California, a base with excellent variety and photographic opportunities.

10 Jan 09: First update of 2009, and it's catching up on some photos from October last year, starting with some California fire fighting aircraft at Hemet-Ryan Field and Lancaster Fox Field, along with some airliners at LAX and a later trip to MoD Boscombe Down.

15 Sep 08: The Chinese update! Shots from two days in the Beijing area, featuring China's latest fighter, the J-10, on a pole in the centre of town, the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution and the quite incredible China Aviation Museum at Datangshan.

31 Aug 08: Belated update with photos form a visit to 60(R) Squadron, RAF Shawbury.

07 Aug 08: Update featuring photos from DCAE Cosford and Coventry Airport on 15 Jul 08, the date of the last DC-3 passenger flight by Air Atlantique.

30 Jul 08: Large military update, with photos from the Red Flag - Alaska 08-02 exercise in April, which have not appeared on the site up until now due publishing commitments. Five sections - Red Flag - Alaska article, Eielson Album, Elmendorf Album, ISTAR at Red Flag and Red Flag Alaska from the air.

Photos and a report on the exercise have been published by Combat Aircraft magazine in issue 9.4. Photos were also used in the article "Pacific Power" in issue 9.3.

26 Jul 08: Well, most of the airshow season in the UK has been a washout. Here are photos form 2 UK airshows which suffered at the hands of the weather. Shuttleworth Military Pageant and the Royal International Air Tattoo arrivals.

15 Jun 08: Antelope Valley Roadtrip: Including some of the aviation highlights of the High Desert, North of Los Angeles, CA.

09 Jun 08: THE LAST FRONTIER: Large update containing the photos from my recent Alaska trip. The photos can be accessed via the ALASKA BLOG page, or via the GALLERIES index page.
