Lynden Air Cargo, Anchorage, AK
Another of Anchorage's well known cargo operators, Lynden Air Cargo have a base on the East side of Ted Stevens Intl. They operate a fleet of L-100 Hercules transports, in contrast to many civilian Hercules operators, who use ex-military C-130s.
Lynden are another company who fly cargo on both scheduled routes and charters. The size and range of the L-100 make it well suited to carrying heavy loads over distance, and Lynden's aircraft regularly venture further afield than many of the aircraft in Alaska - on the day of our visit, the single aircraft present on the companies ramp was due to fly to a destination in Russia the next day.

During the couple of days spent outside ANC, Lynden's aircraft were seen flying regularly.

Some of the company's work is on behalf of the US military - with the USAF cargo fleet being heavily stretched due to commitments in the Middle East and Afghanistan, the charter of such aircraft is common, and a useful addition to the active fleet. In fact, during our visit to Eielson AFB for Red Flag - Alaska, one of Lynden's aircraft visited, bringing in cargo.

With thanks to all at Lynden for accommodating our visit.
